Spring Inspirations [Day 23]

Yesterday I was contently watching the sun shine when without warning a robust dark cloud appeared.  Boom! Giant drops of water came pelting to the ground.  Then, as quickly as it came, beautiful blue skies with luxurious white clouds overtook the skies.  Followed by sounds of thunder (oh sorry I guess I didn’t see that, I heard it).  A delicate sprinkle.  Blue skies.

Overcast and more thunder.  Do you see a pattern here?   Yes, it’s springtime in Michigan.  With it comes the reminders of God’s blessings.  Showers of blessings, mercy drops round us are falling….

Over the years there have been obvious blessings in my life.  Music for sure which brings with it treasured friendships, memorable events, and awesome adventures. Another obvious blessing is a curiosity that has led me to learn an array of skills or at the very least propelled me to dabble in new skills.   Some of the less obvious blessings have come through trials, like growing relationships, the bond of people who have suffered or worked together is very sweet.  The patience that has come through testing and perseverance.  The humility that has through disappointments.  They are all blessings that fill my soul with joy.  The are blessings that fill my spirit with the peace that just doesn’t come naturally.

This verse is easy for us to grab on to, isn’t it.

I encourage you every time the rain falls from the clouds above, to thank the Lord for His provision.  The food that you need.  The relationships that you need.  The income He provides.  The storms that bring less obvious blessings.  The character they build that leads to joy you never thought possible.

Praise Him in the rain.  He is kind.  He is generous.  He is more than enough.
