If people can “lose” or walk away from their “faith” how are they judged?

The judgments are very clearly laid out in scripture. If you are part of the body of believers/the Church/the bride of Christ/a Christian/a person of faith (all of these names describing the same status) then your sins are forgiven and the “judgment” you face is the Bema Seat which was described in week #4. Those people’s names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and are known and claimed as children by God. Depending on their relationship with God they will gain or lose rewards at that time.

If their names are not written in this book, they don’t profess to believe or follow any of what is described above, they face the Great White Throne Judgment described in week #8. They will be cast into the “Lake of Fire” as people Christ does not know or claim.

So the question really is about the potential “in-between”. What about those who used to profess Christ as Savior but walk away from their faith? Can your name be erased from “the book”? The bigger question is when does someone become a Christian? Is it when they say a prayer and ask for salvation from hell? Or is it when they turn from their sin and follow the LORD of their life?
