Great question. A couple things come to mind.
First: Knowing your job, God’s job, and their job.
Your job is to a) love them, b) show them what a Christian life looks like, c) share the truth of God’s loves for them, and d) to pray that God does what is necessary in their life so they will hear and respond.
God’s job is to call them, convict, them, save them, transform them, and use them to reach others.
Their job is to Admit they are a sinner and have offended God. Believe that Jesus alone is the solution to their sin problem and reconciliation to God. In order for that that to happen they must Choose to repent of their sin and put their complete trust in Jesus as their Savior.
Second: Matthew 13 is a great chapter to read regarding those who are willing and ready to hear, and those who are not.
