Does God prepare some people to stay [after the rapture] and join the battle against evil?

In another post regarding the tribulation we discussed the “players” involved during this time. You can read more about that HERE.

There are actually some who are prepared exactly for that purpose, during the tribulation. The tribulation is a time of punishment for the world, but it is also an important time for God’s chosen, Israel. It is their 70th week, completing Daniel’s prophecy given to point them to Christ as their Messiah.

Notable among those involved in the tribulation are 2 special witnesses that speak truth on the behalf of God to warn people against what is coming and tell them about God. They speak boldly for the first half of the tribulation. (Revelation 11:3)

Also prepared to battle the evil of the the tribulation are 144,000 witnesses. God will prepare 12,000 people to be witnesses for him from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. You can read about this in Revelation 7.

Finally, scripture says (Revelation 7:9,14) there are a “great multitude” of martyred believers during the tribulation. These would be people that have been added to God’s family after having decided to follow Christ rather than the antichrist during this time of devastation. How do they come to faith, when the “Church” has left the planet? Scripture does not tell us that, but it is very possible that there are many “churched” people who never chose to leave their life of sin and commit to follow Christ. It is also very possible that many of them understand the reality of their choice and take up that cross of living out their faith and sharing it with others as long as they are able to after the rapture has occurred.

Finally when does the church fight along side the Lord? It is when we return with the Christ in His second coming. He will defeat the enemies of that time, the antichrist and the false prophet and we will be with him. We can be assured that we are prepared to do whatever the Lord directs! Following this we will serve Him in His 1,000 year Reign.
