Just to clarify who the beast is: The beast, or antichrist as he is better known, is empowered by Satan and has a co-hort named the false prophet who will work together to do Satan’s bidding. The beast/antichrist is the most powerful and perverted person who will ever walk the earth according to Dr. Willmington in Willmington’s Guide to the Bible; a genius intellectually (Daniel 8:23), oratorically (Daniel 11:36), politically (Revelation 17:11-12), commercially (Revelation 13:16, 17; Daniel 11:43), militarily (Revelation 6:2; 13:2), and religiously (Revelation 13:8; 2 Thessalonians 2:4).

The antichrist’s worshipers will bear his number 666 in some form. (Revelation 13:16-18) Six is the number representing man used in scripture. This number which falls short of the 7 which represents God. For example: Man was created on the 6th day, he was given 6 days to work, and to rest on the 7th. The slave was to work for 6 years and be free on the 7th. The number 666 is referred to six times in Revelation (Revelation 14:9, 11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; and 20:4). There has been much speculation over the years trying to manipulate people’s names to add up to 666. All have failed so far but this quote sums up the attempt to make a calculation well. A final suggestion is that as God is “holy, holy, holy” and exists in 3 persons, the name God gave to the antichrist is 6 6 6. As if God is saying, you will be known as “man, man, man” who has rebelled against the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
